Dream Home

Was just doing a little clean up and I came across some photos that I found not to long ago that I really liked. This was the image of my dream home for a long time. I don’t know if I would necessarily consider it still my dream home. I would like to have a it as one of my homes one day… perhaps more like a resort house… but thats about it. The more I think about it, I really don’t seem to have a ‘dream home’ as most people do. I seem more concerned with the people and activities that would make up that home more than the structure itself.

Nonethelsss.. these pretty photos I am sure could inspire others with what might be possible. :)

Google Killers!

It’s funny.. when I created the business news section I thought I could perhaps talk about whats going on with my various efforts. It then occured to me that much of what I do is rather covetted by others, and would not be wise to broadcast. :)

I guess I can comment on some of the stuff I been seeing going on in the business world :)

As many of you know… I am a real tech head…. I understand this Internet stuff in many different facets. So I guess I’ll just comment on some of that.

Google is in the news again… strangely enough though, as we came into 2007, I saw all the industry watchers coming out with these predictions for the ‘Google Killer’! Ouuuu what could it be?! Some have been looking at the potential of a merger of Yahoo/AOL/Microsoft, while the makers of Wikipedia as reported by The Times in their article “Founder of Wikipedia plans search engine to rival Google”.With all this talk about toppling the big G, it seems clear that there is a bad taste in everyones mouth over how Google has proceeded with their mission:

“to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

While they have done a bang up job of taking over just about every single vertical market out there, it has left little opportunity to the rest of the Internet services world who must bow down toe 2nd 3rd and 4th place in the search indexes compared to what Google decides to serve up. New ‘Beta’ programs continue to come out continually changing the way search used to be. Google is now becoming an elaborate portal for a truck load of services that are far to well funded.

I don’t believe it is a coincidence that there is a downturn in Adsense/Adwords at the exact same time we are seeing all these new services proping up from Google. Too many of those that use Adwords have been sorely disappointed by the poor conversion results, while those attempting to make money with Adsense, have also been vexed by their results compared to just a year ago.

Something funny going on there and I can’t put my finger on it.

My prediction for 2007 is that we will actually see a shifting away from Google. I believe Google will continue to introduce big new bold service offerings that will be received with far less zeal as they were in the past.

I think we will also see a moving away from search in general. The general public just doesn’t have the patience anymore to spend hours searching for something to finally get to where they should have within a few minutes. New value services will be introduced as people start to find their ‘home’ online and get their virtual real estate established in the manner that they like. People are not ready for the more advanced net appliances that are possible now, so I give that another two years until they become more mainstream.

Expect to see more Video Sites come up as the next generation in online profits for clicks. This will couple with new creative means to bring entertainment back to advertisment will enable sellers in CPA offers to do far better than they had in the past.

Anyway you look at it, 2007 is going to see some amazing things happening in the online world.
